Full Time On-Call / Float Caregiver (Guaranteed 40 Hours)
     $17/ Hr.

Position Type: Full-Time, Guaranteed 40 hours weekly

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced and dependable Full-Time On-Call Caregiver to provide high-quality care to clients throughout the Augusta, GA service area and surrounding locations (**GA & SC). This position is designed to support staffing needs by filling open shifts on short notice, stabilize starts of care and support high-risk transitions. The ideal candidate is flexible, compassionate, confident and committed to ensuring continuity of care for clients.

This position guarantees 40 hours per week, regardless of whether the employee is called to cover scheduled hours. In exchange, the caregiver is expected to maintain open availability and accept short notice assignments as needed. The caregiver will also conduct first visits for current and new client cases when introductions are required

 

Paid Time Off (PTO)

Full-time Float  Caregivers are eligible to receive one (1) week (40 hours) of paid time off (PTO) after successfully completing six (6) consecutive months of continuous full-time employment.


Responsibilities

  • Provide compassionate personal care and companionship to clients.
  • Fill open shifts on short notice to ensure continuity of care.
  • Assist with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility.
  • Safely transfer clients using a Hoyer lift and other mobility equipment.
  • Perform light housekeeping and meal preparation.
  • Provide medication reminders.
  • Provide transportation for client’s appointments, errands and community activities.
  • Document care provided and report changes in client condition.
  • Work with clients of all genders.
  • Maintain professionalism and confidentiality at all times.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of one (1) year of professional caregiving experience (home care, assisted living, skilled nursing, or related setting).
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check and drug screen
  • Current driver's license and reliable transportation which will remain with you the entire shift.
  • Valid automobile insurance.
  • Provide client transportation as needed (in personal vehicle or client’s vehicle).
  • Comfortable working in homes with pets.
  • Comfortable working with clients who smoke (indoors and/or outside).
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to different client needs and environments.

Preferred

  • Dementia & Alzheimer’s care experience.
  • Hoyer lift experience and safe transfer techniques preferred or willingness to be trained.

Availability Requirements

This position requires flexibility and on-call availability to cover open shifts that arise on short-notice due to last minute call outs, emergencies, or staffing shortages.

Permanent Client Assignment

  • Employees may maintain a regularly scheduled client assignment of up to 16 hours per week.
  • Remaining hours will be dedicated to covering staffing needs as assigned.

 

Shift Acceptance Expectations

Because this position guarantees forty (40) hours weekly pay regardless of actual hours worked, employees are expected to maintain open availability and accept assignments when requested.

Repeated refusal of available shifts may be considered failure to meet the requirements of the position.
